2001 Le Carillon De L'Angelus

The Second Label of one of the best wines I've ever tasted, Chateau Angelus. This young Bordeaux has extensive character for the price and really expresses the terrior of the right bank. A silky exotic nose with hints of chocolate and eucalyptus and a classic hint of the "Barnyard" that I have grown to admire in Bordeaux wines. The palate expresses lots of dark coffee and dark chocolate and is not as fruit forward as I would like but is still very enjoyable. The finish is pretty smooth and does express some dark fruits. A very complex wine and one I would suggest only to those who really enjoy Bordeaux. I would score it 89 points.
