2004 Belle Vallée Reserve Pinot Noir

A Oregon Pinot Noir with lots of wet stone and minerality on the nose mixed with a slight touch of bell pepper and chalk. Sounds yummy huh!! Although those flavors and aromas don't sound all that wonderful they add complexity and make it very fun to taste and analyze. Oregon Pinot often has aromas of steel and wet stone and this wine is no exception. The flavors are bright, sharp, and short. The finish is a bit hot and very sharp and short. It's hard to get honest flavors out of this wine but it is a little green and bitter. The flavor doesn't follow the nose and I would not recommend this wine. I score it 85 points
