1998 David Arthur Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine has a fading red color that turns maroon around the edges, the fairly complex nose boasts aromas of plum, dark chocolate, toasted oak, and black raspberry and evolves as the wine open up. It's really amazing what age does to wines and this particular 98' Cali Cabernet Sauvignon is smelling like the 97's do or did a year ago. In fact the flavors are so similar to the 97' Napa Cab's I have tasted recently. Black cherry, ripe blackberry, coco powder, and a touch of oak that is delicately integrated. The finish is slightly off balance but does linger well. I score this wine 89 points.
