Adelsheim Pinot Gris 2005

The 2005 Adelsheim Pinot Gris is a great example of the expression that this grape exhibits in this cool weather climate. The aromas show beautiful floral notes followed by hints of creamy lemon, yeast, nutmeg, and citrus. The flavors are vibrant tangerine, tangelo, and very slight and soft oak, followed by a soft texture that finishes fruity on the finish. This wine is unique because of the neutral barrel fermentation and partial malolactic fermentation, which lends extensive complexity and texture to this wine. I generally love Adelsheim wines and this is no exception. I score the wine 89 points.
