Alma Rosa Pinot Gris 2004
There are a limited number of Pinot Gris that come out of the Santa Barbara area and this wine is a really cool ecclectic white wine that I suggest not only because it is good wine but because it is a good educational experience. The color of this wine is different then most domestic Gris' in that it is more of a golden yellow. The nose has beautiful aromas of yeast, asian pear, honeysuckle, and lemon marange. As with the other Alma Rosa selections this wine takes on very vibrant fruit flavors which include; creamy lemon, pear, spice, and honey. This is a fantastic picnic wine which will pair nicley with light foods and some lean fish. I score the wine 89 points. Check out earlier post for reviews of the Pinot Noirand the Chardonnay.
