Chappellet Chenin Blanc 2004

Very few producers of wine in the Napa Valley go out of their way to produce a Chenin Blanc and especially one of this quality. In fact Chappellet has been making Chenin Blanc for decades. This dry style Chenin has pronounced aromas of chalkboard chalk, fresh limes, and wild flowers. The flavors are of crisp unripe honeydew melon, citrus, and spice, and carry into a nice, long, dry, and citrusy finish. This wine is fairly unexciting as far a true complexity stands but it does show good focus and is clean on the palate.

I like this wine too and have recommended it for several vintages! I read you note at Wine Sediments and would be delighted to hear what you think after reading my book Red, White and Drunk All Over. You can more info on it and my free e-newsletter if you're interested at
