This Mount Veeder Zin has a dark ruby color and boasts the power and structure of real mountain fruit. The aromas are bold and pronounced and lead with lush blueberry, chocolate, pepper, and black raspberry. The flavors are equally as bold showing notes of blueberry, vanilla, oak, creme de cassis, and a distinct concord grape, finishing with lots of oak tannin and a firm grip that leaves you almost puckering. This wine needs lots of decanting to soften the tannin but is a quality effort and will leave "big-zin" fans satisfied. I score the wine
87 points.
