2005 Dr. Loosen Erdener Prälat Riesling Auslese

Dr. Loosen is one of the finest producers in all of Germany and this wine is a very special effort indeed. The pinpoint definition of beautiful transparency and a wine lacking any noteworthy flaws. The nose is filled with aromas of lime peel, apricot, peach nectar, a touch of wet stone, lilac, and vanilla. The Bouquet develops nicely in the glass and is best analyzed when not really cold. Flavors of white peach, honeydew, sweet apple, and a nice mineral slate character all reveal themselves in what I believe is a perfectly balanced wine in terms of fruit and acidity. The finish is powerful but not incredibly long and sticky, delicious and mouth coating describes the aftertaste. Leaves you desiring more. I score this wine 93 points.
