1990 Chateau Lynch Bages

Another splendid opportunity was presented to me at a good friends house to partake of the 1990 Chateau Lynch Bages. Though being 18 years in age the famed wine from Pauillac presented itself with a full deep color and substantial power in the way of acid and tannin. A bouquet not short of layers or complexity showed immense tipicity in it's crushed rock and peppery minerality, followed by notes of dark coco powder and a rustic plum. The flavors were equally as complex showing nuances of dried cranberry, plum, sweet tobacco, pomegranate, and prune leading into the finish. Dry, firm, and complex is the theme of this wine at the current state. Very nice wine that in my opinion has not reached it's peak yet. 94 points
