2004 Nugan Estate Alcira Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is all about Aussie terroir and tasting and smelling the wonderful eucalyptus and minty notes that underline the big cassis laden fruit structure. The color of the wine is a beautiful and hazy dark red and the aromas strike the nose with loads of black fruit, mint, eucalyptus, hints of anise, and pencil shaving. The flavors are bold and rich and show great structured blackberry, cassis, black cherry , and just hints of the terroir driven elements fore mentioned. The wine lacks complete depth but for what it is it brings a good amount of complexity and full flavor to the table. A medium length finish with nice dark fruit and chocolate tones. 89-90 points
