The reds from Washington state never cease to amaze me with their quality, concentration, and depth. This
Cabernet Sauvignon from the Columbia Valley was produced by the folks a Hogue Cellars and has a deep and dark color and fabulous bouquet. The aromas are of red raspberry, dusty cherry, tea leaf, red plum, and a touch of milk chocolate. The flavors are amazingly rich and concentrated with dark fruits; blackberry is the theme showing distinct purity. Melted licorice, creme de cassis, and toasted oak are flavors that lead into the spicy and dry finish. The tannin is firm and active but not astringent. This is a very nicely made wine and for the price tag which I believe is around or under twenty dollars it's a steel.
