2005 Georges Duboeuf Fleurie Cru du Beaujolais

One of the ten Cru du Beaujolais, Fleurie by Georges Duboeuf is a full red color that just slightly fades towards the edges. The aromas are quite earthy in character and shows hints of plum, leather, and overipe cherry. On the palate the wine continues with it's earthy tones and plum notes, it also shows raspberry, mineral, and a soft texture. This is neat stuff and something one might not try everyday. I enjoyed the subtle flavors and softness of the wine and only found it lacking in depth and fruit flavor. 86 points
