This young Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina was created from 65 years old vines in the Valle de Uco appellation in Mendoza. The color of the wine is a dark and slightly hazy purple-red.

Aromas of blackberry, black currant, melted licorice, and cedar box make up the nicely crafted bouquet. On the palate the wine grips down hard with a firm dose of chunky tannin, flavors of blackberry and black currant set the tone, while a generous amount of oak makes it's presence known. The tannin makes this wine appear rustic in nature but it's really quite fruit filled. I think this wine needs bottle age or a long decanting to really show it's true core of fruit. I like the wine, but as is I give it 87 points.
