2006 Groth Chardonnay Napa Valley

This Chardonnay from Napa Valley shows aromas of lemon custard, pineapple, apple pie, spice, and hints of nutmeg. The flavor profile consists of creamy toasted oak, baked apple, spice, honey suckle, and citrus peel on the finish. The "sur lie" aging added layers of toastiness and creaminess to the wine. This is a very elegant wine that is rich without being fat. The oak is well integrated and the acid is crisp. 90 Points
