My birthday wines

I opened a bunch of wines with my friends on the 1st of November for my birthday.

2005 Continuum
2004 Cardinale
2002 Heitz Napa Cabernet
2004 Cliff Lede Poetry
2005 Dr. Loosen Pralat Riesling Auslese

The 2004 Cardinale was far and above the best wine out of the lot and Continuum was very nice as well. The wines I opened with exception of the Heitz were probably all too young to drink but I felt like splurging and so that's what we did. I wish I hadn't opened the Riesling because we were all too tipsy to really enjoy it. I realized I will probably start a vertical of Cardinale in my cellar because on several occasions I have thought this wine was something special and the confirmation was given once again when tasting all these expensive wines. Cheers!

Great collection of Birthday wines!! I love Dr. Loosen wines. All of them. Im curious to know how the Heitz turned out. Was it maturing too soon?

Sounds like it was a good meal

The Heitz was really good and if not tasted among so many other really quality wines I would have enjoyed it more. I'd probably score the wine 91-92 points and no it wasn't maturing to fast.
