The bouquet of this wine is extremely explosive and shows brilliant red fruit aromas. Watermelon, fresh strawberries, and hints of vanilla are just some of the aromas I picked out that were very enjoyable. On the palate this wine touches down with massive strawberry notes accompanied by some really interesting cotton candy-like flavors and some very nice minerality too.
The wine appears to have a touch of residual sugar or seems to be sweet. This could be the case, and the wine could have a touch of sugar left in it after fermentation, or it could be a false sense of sweetness brought on by the high alcohol content. The wine comes in at around 15.5% alcohol and it does show a bit on the palate but this didn't ruin the experience of this blockbuster effort. This is the biggest, most explosive Grenache I have tasted in some time. The finish goes on for days! 91 points

If you enjoy this, I think you'll enjoy the 07 even more! Mikael Sigouin, the head winemaker there, KNOWS grenache - making it not only for them but for his own label, Kaena, as well . . .
I LOVE grenache and currently make single vineyard grenaches from a few vineyards in the Santa Barbara County area, including Watch Hill up in Los Alamos . . .
Thanks again for sharing!
Cheers!
