"Affordable" and "Bordeaux" may be two words you wouldn't always expect to see in the same sentence. It seams as if news stories are always breaking about the record prices being spent on rare catches of fancy Bordeaux and how the Asia market is pushing those prices higher every year. While these stories may be true, it doesn't necessarily mean that us average wine drinkers can't afford quality Bordeaux.
What's great about Bordeaux is that it's an incredibly large growing region and there are hundreds of small lesser known properties that make stunning juice at affordable prices. Also, many of the top Chateau's have second and third label wines that are magnificent and can be bought at a fraction of the price of the "Grand Vin".
Here is just a snap shot of just some of the affordable Bordeaux available with great press and scores and even better pricing:
90 Point and Above Rated Bordeaux for under $20
94+ Point wines for under $75 a bottle
94+ Point wines for $20-40
